Hello Alberto,

The general recommendation is to uninstall RhinoDirect before installing the RhinoAssembly. And conversely uninstall RhinoAssembly before installing the RhinoDirect. These plugins are not intended to be used simultaneously, only one of them can be loaded into Rhino.

If you want to switch between plugins you may keep the both of them installed (currently it is not recommended way of work), in this case you will often see two similar toolbars loaded - one for Direct and another for Assembly. Just close (with x) the toolbar you don't want to use.
In order to switch from Direct to Assembly:

1. Launch Rhino
2. Call PlugInManager command
3. Do right-click on RhinoAssembly and select Enable load protection.
4. Close RhinoAssembly toolbar.
5. Close Rhino, launch Rhino.
6. Call PlugInManager command, click Install and select lddrhi.rhp file from RhinoDirect installation folder.
7. If RhinoDirect toolbar doesn't appear, open Rhino menu Tools/Toolbars layout. Select File/Open and select lddrhi.tb file from RhinoDirect installation folder.

To make sure that RhinoDirect is loaded call LDDAbout command. It must show About window for RhinoDirect.

And you are right, RhinoAssembly toolbar is shipped with RhinoDirect but it is for future use, it never appears unless you explicitly load it. Just don't use it. Also, please note that command names are the same for RhinoDirect 0.2 and RhinoAssembly 1.1, thus any toolbar will work with any plugin.

We'll take efforts to provide more accurate way of working with next releases of RhinoDirect and RhinoAssembly. Thank you.

Best regards,
Alexey
