Please make driving dimensions for mac osx. I would buy a pro copy. I could really use this for my work. What is keeping you from offering this for the mac platform? If you need any testing I will be glad to test for you.

Thanks.

I would also be very interested in a Mac OSX version of the plug-in. I have been hoping for something much less intense than Pro E and SolidWorks to get others at my design firm into parametric modeling. I beta test all the software at our firm, and would be happy to see a version in any state. Thank you.

Hooray! Thanks Dimitry! This is really exiting, especially knowing that Rhino is also being ported to Mac OS X.

Let me know about beta testing. It would be a pleasure to help.

I have a news for you guys: we are about to release our Driving Dimensions plugin for Google SketchUp running on Mac OS X.
If you are still interested in beta testing this software (before the official release), please let me know.

Hi Dmitry,

I would not mind to be a Mac OS X beta tester. I am running Leopard (v10.5.7) totally updated.

Thank you. I've sent you an internal forum message with details.

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for the Mac OSX beta software you sent me yesterday afternoon. I will try to do some tests and send you my impressions using this thread just because other users can read it and avoid sending same or similar feedback.

First of all, and as I told you by PM, I think this plugin is something really needed in Sketchup and I am sure it will help a lot to Sketchup users.

Today has been a busy day and I have had no time to test anything, but now (2:00am) I wanted to see how it worked before go to bed tongue.gif

My first impression is really good after some minutes doing parametrization, but I have seen something I think should be corrected and I want to give this simple feedback to you before going to sleep.

It is about angular dimensions. I was really crazy at the beginning as I was not able to create them; but after some different tries I realize that depending of the operation, the angle was created as an angle, or as an linear dimension!. Let me explain it to you with some images:

1) This is the behavior I think should be corrected when creating an angular dimension (the creation and the result):

2) And this is how I think it should work (the creation and the result):

The only difference between the 1st and 2nd example was that I was pressing the left mouse button during the entire operation while I was creating the dimension. Doing the dimension on this way, the plugin will show you a pop up window asking for the length parameter instead the angle one.

My brother downloaded the windows version yesterday afternoon and was having the same problem. In fact he contacted sketchup@drivingdimensions.com asking for the way to create angular dimensions, but now we know the workaround; so you have not to reply him.

It could appear to be so obvious you do not have to press the mouse button during the entire operation; but depending the different ways people work, it could be really difficult to manage.

I hope this helps,
Ilia Ivanov
Thank you eklalj for this observation!
I hope we'll be able to fix this problem soon.
